Over the years, I spent a lot of my time in the Hudson Valley going to various car shows and taking lots of pictures of all the great cars. During this time, I have come to know many of the car clubs. I have found though my travels that the most organized and friendliest car club is The Dutchess Cruisers. The Dutchess Cruisers hold their weekly car show at McDonald’s in Highland near the Poughkeepsie Bridge every Saturday. Besides having a DJ present at every show at least once a month, they have entertainment, usually a singer or band. The music they play varies from Country Music, Doo Wop, Rock ‘n Roll, to a Crooner. Besides the weekly cruise, The Dutchess Cruisers hold various car show events throughout the year. In Pawling, they hold the Healy Car Show, the Dubois Farms Car Show, and last, but not least, my favorite: The Beacon Day Show. The picture on the front page was the last picture I took at the last show of the car show season which was “Beacon Day.” This event was held by, promoted, and sponsored by The Dutchess Cruisers. It was a great way to end the year at this family and community oriented car show and it was an amazing way to end the season before we all go into hibernation and wait for the season to return. The Dutchess Cruisers are celebrating their 15th anniversary this year. Fifteen years, not only shows organization, but continued support from the surrounding people and community. Kudos on fifteen years of bringing car fun to everyone! The Dutchess Cruisers are also a charitable organization and over the years they have contributed to over two dozen charities through their car show by donating proceeds to animal shelters, the Veterans Administration, St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, Toys for Tots, and various other charities and local causes as well. They help needy families not only during the holidays, but all year through. So to sum everything up, if you’re looking to join a car club, I recommend The Dutchess Cruisers. They’re always looking for new members, and you don’t even have to be from Dutchess County or even own a car. I keep looking for car dealerships near me.

All you need is a love for cars and the desire to have a good time throughout the summer season. If you would like to go to a great car show and you’re looking for a fun day with food, music, cars, trophies, and 50/50 raffles, The Dutchess Cruisers put a show on every Monday on 9W in Highland at McDonald’s near the Poughkeepsie Bridge. If you want to get your kids to experience the car culture and continue the tradition of preserving these historic pieces of history, the right place to do it would be joining The Dutchess Cruisers. These are some of the reasons I consider The Dutchess Cruisers to be one of the best car clubs in the Hudson Valley Check out the schedule for their upcoming cruises.
